Our FAQ's section is dedicated to answering questions frequently asked about Kitchen Expo's products and services - as well as general issues concerning kitchen remodeling. It's a great place to find out what you need quickly and easily. If, however, you do not find the answer you need, please call a Kitchen Expo representative - we're happy to help.
Why should I buy a kitchen from Kitchen Expo?
Kitchen Expo offers an unparalleled combination of value in its product, design, and service. Our history demonstrates that our customers have come to rely on us to deliver on our promise of providing quality merchandise at affordable prices. Thousands of satisfied customers have proven out our objective: focus on one thing and do it well.
How does Kitchen Expo's pricing compare to the home centers?
More than competitive, particularly when considering the attention to detail required in kitchen design. Since our prices are often less expensive than our competition, and our customers tell us they like our designs better, that makes Kitchen Expo the value leader.
How much per linear foot are your cabinets?
Pricing per foot tends to be inaccurate and sometimes misleading, which is not what Kitchen Expo is all about. Each kitchen design is unique; add or subtract mouldings, accessories, finish, etc. That is why an initial free design
with pricing is our pleasure.
What is your square foot pricing for granite countertops?
They begin around $ 59.00 with a selection larger than most. It is always easier to purchase your countertops from the same supplier of your cabinets since they are intimate with your layout. We also encourage our customers to inquire about alternatives to granite; one of the hottest products available today is Silestone, which outperforms granite in every category and
with pricing that tends to be lower per square foot!
How long does it take to get cabinets?
It always depends on the brand, and occasionally a factory can be inundated with orders, much like the furniture manufacturers. However, we have chosen the strongest factories and they typically average 4 - 8 weeks. Kitchen Expo does carry inventory of certain styles, so there are some that are available the same or next day.
Do you come out to my home to give me ideas, view the space?
Kitchen Expo is always about giving its clients ideas. Once a preliminary design is completed, customers anxious to move forward will apply a modest retainer, at which time Kitchen Expo will send a technician to verify measurements and provide the designer with pictures of your work space.
How do you start the kitchen remodeling process?
It's always good to come into Kitchen Expo with any ideas of your own, which may include magazine photos, etc. Of course, that is not a requirement. So, come see us, bring some measurements, look around at all
of our displays, color, and door style options, and start picking what you like. Soon you'll be comfortable while together we design the "Heart of Your
Home."
How do I measure?
Our planning guide walks you through that process Step by Step.
Do you come out to verify my measurements?
Always your choice, but it is recommended.
Is there a fee for the design services?
The initial design is free and our pleasure. Moving forward with the project generally requires a modest non-refundable retainer which provides you with measurement verification. When
you're ready to purchase, your retainer is applied toward the offering.
What type of quality are the cabinets?
Kitchen Expo has selected national brands for their strong reputation for quality, value, and service. Quality and value are terms that are synonymous with each other, usually comparing the cost of a product with
its features and benefits. Kitchen Expo offers a vast selection of products in many price groups. Within those groups, the quality is among the best available. Each of the manufacturer's offer a warranty, and Kitchen Expo's Customer Care Center is always available should the need arise.
Are the cabinets already assembled?
Cabinetry comes assembled, but needs to be installed to make it a kitchen. Often mouldings will be added, and some accessories have to be installed in the field.
Do I need an appointment?
Not to come see us, but appointments allow us to focus on you.
Do we offer financing?
Yes.
Do we install?
Installation is available.
What is the difference between framed and full-access cabinets?
Full-access cabinets have their structural integrity on the back and do not require a frame. Typically the largest difference is that the clearances between doors and drawers are closer than with framed cabinets offering what some feel is a sleeker appearance. Statistics prove that full-access (frameless) cabinetry offers up to 22% more storage than a framed cabinet kitchen.
Why do I have to wait 2 weeks for countertops?
While countertops can be ordered at the same time cabinets are ordered, that simply secures the availability of the products. Once your cabinets are installed, the process of getting a technician to your home to template
your countertop (make a mock countertop) begins. The template is then brought to the factory where your countertop is carved from either stone, wood, etc. It is then shaped,
polished and edge treatments are applied and sink cutouts performed, and,
ultimately, an appointment needs to be made to return to your home to install the real countertop. Certain technologies are being implemented to reduce the lead times
What brands do you carry?
We have focused our attention on the strongest national brands in specific categories to bring the greatest value, style, options, and service reliability. The brands include
Kraftmaid, Decora, Aristokraft, Ultracraft, and Elmwood cabinetry. Countertop choices include national brands such as
Silestone, Corian, Formica, Wilsonart, Laminate, and local supplies of Natural Stone and Butcher Block. Our strong focus on specific products has allowed us the unique distinction of being recognized by each of these manufacturers as New Jersey's largest independent dealer for their products, a value you won't find anywhere else.
Do you sell appliance, flooring, plumbing fixtures?
No, we sell cabinets and countertops.
How much more is a plywood cabinet?
This varies between product lines but typically about 15%.
Can I get glass doors?
Most of our cabinet suppliers offer a wide variety of glass options for your kitchen. If you can't find something you like, we can order doors prepared for glass, which can then be taken to a local glass dealer to customize to your taste.
